NATIONAL DAILY PRAYER

Are you willing to commit to pray for our country seven days a week? Imagine NATIONAL DAILY PRAYER. Are you able to set aside time in your car, during your coffee break, or before bedtime? We want to challenge you make this prayer commitment.

7×7 involves praying for seven centers of power seven days a week: Government, Military, Media, Business, Education, Church and Family. By remembering these specific prayer points, we can cover all Americans with God’s power. Together, we will see positive change.

As part of the National Day of Prayer’s 7×7 campaign, we are asking Americans to meet in corporate prayer. Matthew 18:20 says: “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” We ask that every Thursday through May 6, 2010, groups of two or more meet in their homes and businesses from 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m. to pray for America and its leaders in the 7 centers of power: government, military, media, business, education, church and family . Please join your friends, your family, your co-workers and join me in uplifting our nation’s future leaders in prayer. And may we ask you to make it a national daily noontime habit to prayer for our nation these 7 Centers of Power.

How Do I Get Involved?

There, are other ways to join us in prayer for America. You can Adopt a Leader or form an Online Prayer Team. In addition, the National Day of Prayer Task Force just recently published the new Heal Our Land, 52-week prayer guide to complement your devotional time.

If you do nothing more than pray every Thursday from 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m., you will be joining with millions across the nation as we petition the Father, interceding for the leadership of America. Thank you for standing with us as we unite in prayer.

The Basic, Bottom Line

The Basic, Bottom Line

by: Ann Doupont

In business, we hear of the “bottom line.” The concern of business owners is whether there’s a profit being made, and how much.

In God’s business, however, things are to be different. The “bottom line” of everything related to the Kingdom of God is whether or not He has initiated the action. Unless the Lord builds the house, the laborers build in vain (Psalm 127:1). Inviting the Lord to build the ministry, He will do it.

We hear of those in “full time” ministry. We consider pastors and others who are supported by donations as being full time in the ministry. What there needs to be are full time Christians, whether they are recognized as being in the ministry, or not. Some people know that they’re called by God to do a work for Him, but don’t know how to “get there.”

Years ago, the Lord spoke to me about the call of God on my life to full time ministry. He said that instead of trying to get into that ministry, to simply do whatever He puts before me to do – to do it with all of my might. He further said that as I did that, I would some day find myself in full time ministry.

Many years have passed since He first spoke those words to me. Simply following the voice of Jesus (the Holy Spirit within me), He has led me out of many afflictions and into a very close walk with Him.

His words to the early disciples remain with us today. He said, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (See Matthew 4:19.)

Jesus is to be the basic, bottom line of our lives. Many have gone astray by listening to other voices. It was told long ago that there would be a great falling away (2 Thessalonians 2:3). One friend said that this would be a falling away from sound doctrine (2 Timothy 4:3), the truth written in the words of the Scriptures we call a Bible.

Jesus said, “Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden…and I will give you rest.” (See Matthew 11:28-30.) We need to come to Him every day and let Him refresh us in His presence (Acts 3:19).

We don’t have to fall away if we will simply follow the way. Jesus is the way…. (See John 14:6.) Understanding the inner promptings of the Holy Spirit who dwells within the lives of every believer, we need not be blinded.

When our eye is single, our whole body will be full of light (Matthew 6:22) and that light will drive out all darkness from our lives. We can then let our light so shine before others that they will see our good (not bad, but good) works and glorify the Father in Heaven. (See Matthew 5:16.)

Let’s let Jesus be the basic, bottom line in our lives continually. He is worth it!

What to do in an Earthquake !!

Lynn Heatley, R.N., Emergency Services Consultant

May I recommend a few things that could be very important and possibly life saving in the event that we might experience a major earthquake sometime in our lifetime. Here is a quick link that is a fun quiz that tests our "readiness" of what to do in an earthquake. It takes about a minute to do and has a great list of resources at the end:
http://www.nwcn.com/sharedcontent/features/flash/quake/during.html
Also, here is a wonderful 40 page handbook (in pdf form) that I would recommend you to print out (or at least save it on your computer), it is extremely valuable and would help you walk through things after an earthquake.http://lafd.org/eqbook.pdf

Also, here is another good resource of helping people through the emotional crisis of disaster:http://www.hillcrestinsurance.com/Surviving%20Stress%20in%20the%20Storm.pdf

Praying you are doing well and that the Lord will grant us wisdom and protection if disasters do occur and that the Lord would help us to shine for Him, whether it is in the midst of a storm or in the place of peace.

Here to serve you . . .

Life and Character of Civil Institutions in USA

The Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States

"I was debating an ACLU attorney at Christmas on an NPR station. I pulled out a Xerox copy of The Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States and said to her: "Until you answer this book, the ACLU can't make a case against America's Christian founding." She was shocked when she saw it. She asked where I had gotten it. The only thing that gave her relief was the fact that the book was not in print. BUT NOW IT IS!

"Be afraid ACLU. Be very afraid. Benjamin F. Morris packs The Christian Life and Character with page after page of original source material making the case that America was founded as a Christian nation. The evidence is unanswerable and irrefutable. This 1000-page book will astound you and send enemies of Christianity into shock." Hardback, 1060 pages
